Michael Adkins

Michael Adkins is the President and Owner of Performance Results Plus, Inc., a Columbus, Ohio-based manufacturer and distributor of hydrological instrumentation equipment serving customers worldwide. A 1985 graduate of West Point with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Adkins served as an Air Defense Artillery officer before earning an MBA from Cornell University in 1992, with a focus on Marketing, Operations Management, and International Business. He built his career over two decades across multiple industries, including ten years with Timken Bearings and Steel, nine years at Alcoa (where he served as General Manager of a $250 million business unit), and leadership roles culminating in a successful $100 million turnaround for a private equity-backed operation managing $200 million in revenue. Most recently, he served as Vice President of a business unit at Englefield Oil before acquiring Performance Results Plus in November 2020.

Since assuming the presidency, Adkins has navigated extraordinary challenges to rebuild this century-old business, including launching operations during the COVID-19 pandemic, reconstructing supply chains after critical vendors disappeared, competing for skilled machinists in a tight labor market, and restoring customer trust after inheriting significant reputational damage from the previous ownership. The company has weathered supply chain disruptions, double-digit cost increases across labor and materials, 2025 federal budget cuts affecting the Department of Interior, and a 43-day government shutdown that severely impacted cash flow. Under Adkins’ leadership, Performance Results Plus continues its tradition of providing high-quality, USGS-specification hydrological instrumentation to researchers and government agencies worldwide, maintaining its competitive position through precision manufacturing and unwavering commitment to quality and customer service.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
